Services

Ignition Fires can arrange or facilitate the servicing, sweeping and maintenance of your stove or fireplace. Depending on the availability of resources and the products involved this will either be carried out using our own team, or it might be by referral to an independent installer/ sweep / engineer. Please contact us in the first instance. It is helpful if you could provide as much information as possible when making enquiries – information such as: Make and Model of the fire, when it was installed, and by whom (where known), is the fire working or broken down, when was it last swept and/or serviced, together with your name and address. A photo of the fire is also helpful and can be emailed to hello@ignitionfires.com – or use the contact form below.

Installation

Ignition Fires can sort out the installation of your fire.

We recognise there are many different levels of service required – according to the type of job, and the type of client.  For some people the only help they require is to load it in the back of their car, or for us to drop it off to their builder.   That is fine with us.

Some people have someone lined up to install it – someone that we don’t know.  That is fine for us too.

Some people want us to do the whole lot – one bill to pay, one butt to kick ( as a customer described it just recently). This is fine Ignition is registered and insured to carry out all the works directly. We are registered with Gas Safe for gas works ( including LPG in houses), and we are registered with OFTEC for solid fuel and woodburning appliances.  Sadly we are also VAT registered so installations purchased from us do attract VAT (unless new build).  Employed staff do not normally work from ladders, so scaffolding or cherry pickers is normally a requirement in those jobs.   So buying through the company attracts a little more red tape, and is not necessarily the cheapest way to do it, but it does afford peace of mind for some people.

The most popular choice for installations, and what accounts for about 80% of the fires we sell, is where we work alongside a team of independent installers. We will price the job and liaise, but the installer himself (for they are all men at present) will invoice the installation charges to you on completion and you pay them direct.  They are all fully insured and registered and they are all experienced guys we have worked with for a long time. Some people worry that there will be more hassle, but frankly we don’t find that. The installers in general look after the client very well because they want good feedback and to continue to receive referrals from Ignition.

It’s not impossible to get a problem during an installation – in fact, truth be told, there is often some detail that is not quite as expected, or the chimney is not easy, or the fireplace does not knock out as perfectly as hoped – but as a general rule the installation teams , whether employed or independent, will invariably find a way to sort things out.

Delivery

Ignition offers a wide variety of delivery options.

For a start you can pop into our Cranleigh HQ and collect anything – we’ll help you get loaded and on your way.

Or we can deliver using one of our vans. Our most normal delivery service is for a “one man delivery” where we will deliver your fire or stove in our large Luton van which is equipped with a taillift. This means our driver can normally safely unload the goods and wheel them on to your property. We normally make a charge for all deliveries so remember to check when making a purchase otherwise we will assume it is to be collected from us.

If you have a particularly tricky drive – perhaps steep or narrow, or low overhanging branches then we may need to make other arrangements. Delivery in this case is generally to kerbside but provided there is someone there to help our driver will normally help wheel it into the house. We will often liaise with the builder or installer and get them to help take it inside.

We can also arrange two man deliveries if you don’t have someone there to help take the parcel in. This service costs more and must be booked well in advance as our driver normally comes alone.

For deliveries further afield we work with a number of pallet carriers, and also a local courier service – so one way or other we should be able to sort delivery for you.
